Importing

An import looks wrong. What should I send you?

The page URL (or the HTML, or the .ir.json capture file), the widths you chose, and a screenshot of the result in Figma. Failed imports never count against the Free quota.

A URL won’t import.

Some sites block plugins from loading them. Figback then captures the page on our server, which works for public pages only. For pages behind a login, use the Chrome extension: it captures the tab you are looking at and saves a file the plugin imports.

The import came back almost empty.

The page probably builds itself with JavaScript, and page scripts are off by default when the plugin loads a URL. Tick “Run page scripts” and try again, or capture the page with the Chrome extension.

Does Figback work in FigJam or Dev Mode?

No. Figback is a plugin for Figma Design files.

The fonts in Figma are different from the website.

Figma can only use fonts installed on your computer or provided by Figma. When a font is missing, Figback picks the closest match it can find and lists every swap after the import (“Font substitutions: X → Y”). Install the original font, if you have a licence for desktop use, and replace it in Figma.

What happens to videos, maps and embeds?

A video comes in as its current frame or poster image, and a canvas as its pixels. Embeds, maps and 3D scenes become screenshots when the page is captured on our server, and grey labelled placeholders in the plugin and the extension. Video files are never downloaded.

The cookie banner is in my import.

Banners and pop-ups are captured as they appear on the page. Close them in your browser tab first, then capture the tab with the Chrome extension.

Which widths can I import?

Desktop, tablet and mobile (1440, 768 and 390) by default, or your own widths from 200 to 4000 pixels. Pages captured on our server take up to 4 widths, each up to 3840 pixels.

How does the dark theme capture work?

Tick “Also capture dark theme”. Server capture switches the page to its dark colour scheme the way a browser in dark mode would. The plugin and the extension can only switch sites that use a dark class or data-theme attribute, so sites that follow the system setting may stay light there.

Is there a limit on page length?

There is no fixed height limit. Pages captured on our server must stay under 50 MB, and the extension can’t copy captures over 20 MB to the clipboard, so it saves them as a file instead.

Library components don’t show up.

Figma’s plugin API cannot list components from another library file, so Figback needs a Figma personal access token to read them. Create one in Figma’s settings and paste it into the plugin. It stays on your device.

Exporting to HTML

What’s in the exported zip?

An index.html (plus one file per extra page), the images in an assets folder, and the CSS inline in the HTML by default. Untick “Inline CSS in the HTML” to get a separate styles.css. Font files are not included; the CSS links to the original font source or to Google Fonts.

Is the exported HTML responsive?

Yes, when you export frames of the same page at several widths. “Merge breakpoints into one page” is on by default: the widest frame becomes the base and each narrower frame adds media query rules with only what changes.

Does exporting count toward the Free limit?

No. Export runs inside the plugin, on every plan, with no limit on frames or exports.

Plans and licenses

What counts as an import?

An import counts once the design is built in Figma, however many widths it has. Failed imports never count. Free includes 10 imports per rolling 30 days, plus up to 20 server captures for pages the plugin can’t load itself.

I’ve hit the device limit.

One Pro key works on up to 3 devices. On a device you no longer use, open License › Remove key from this device in the plugin, or write to us and we will free a slot. Devices unused for 180 days are freed automatically.

What happens when Pro ends?

You return to Free. Imports made while on Pro don’t count, so you keep whatever was left of your 10 Free imports. Pro also pauses if the plugin can’t check your key for 7 days, and comes back at the next successful check.

How do I cancel or change plans?

In the plugin, open License › Manage subscription and cancel in one click in the Stripe customer portal. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

Who bills me, and where are my receipts?

Stripe is the merchant of record and handles VAT. Stripe emails a receipt for every payment, and the customer portal opens from License › Manage subscription.

I lost my license key.

Write to us from the email you used at checkout and we will help you get a new key.

Chrome extension

Which browsers does Figback Capture support?

Chrome 109 or later. Edge, Brave and Arc run Chrome extensions and should work, but we haven’t tested them yet. There is no Firefox version.

What’s in the capture file?

One .ir.json file with every width you captured, and the dark theme if you asked for it. Images are embedded; fonts are referenced by name and source. The file can contain anything the page showed you, including logged-in content, so treat it like any file you save.
